Choosing our first single from our new album “Wake Up!” has been probably one of the most difficult choices we have had to make with the new album. When a new album is being put together often times certain tracks, that you didn’t expect come out as new favorites or previous favorites drop down on the list. You try to pick the best song with the best production and the song that best represents the new album that will intrigue the interest of fans and new fans. “You Really Want it All” has always been from the get go, on the top of the list.
A couple of weeks before the Nov 2nd, 2013 release date we did a little poll with people close to us and got their feedback about which song we should choose as the first example of the new album. What we learned from everyone was 1) Everyone liked different songs 2) They liked them all (good problem) 3) We were more confused.
By a very small margin “You Really Want it All” took the honors as the first choice. People who picked it said “It sticks in my head” and “I love the chorus”. Our live shows have also been a good indicator that fans enjoyed the song, in particular our female fans. Time will tell if we picked the right single for the album.
So far radio has also picked “You Really Want it All” as a cut from the album so hopefully it will “stick” in new fans minds to check out the entire album.
